GeeCoolThe 14790F is the China-exclusive 16-core/24-thread part: 5.4GHz boost, 36MB of L3 (a touch more than the 14700F's 33MB), VNNI INT8 and no iGPU. Its AI difference from the 14700F is effectively nil — 3MB more L3 is unmeasurable in daily loads, and its reason to exist is pricing.
Buying advice: compare same-price configs and take whichever is cheaper between the 14790F and the 14700F; note it has 16 cores, not the 14700's 20 — don't let the '14790' name mislead you. Local small models, embedding and preprocessing all fit; a discrete GPU plus 192GB of RAM is its right posture.
