How does Core Ultra 5 235A handle gaming, and how large is the gap versus cheaper models?

The Core Ultra 5 235A is a 14-core, 14-thread desktop part (Arrow Lake, no Hyper-Threading). Judge gaming by the pairing: 1080p high refresh depends on CPU single-core speed, memory, and the engine; 1440p/4K usually starts with the GPU, and the cores mostly buy background-task headroom.

When comparing cheaper parts, fix the GPU, driver, memory, and power settings, then check 1% lows and frame times. Don't infer FPS from core count — it's the easiest way to misjudge.
