How many cores and threads does Core i7 13650HX have, and is it suitable for gaming and video editing in a laptop?

The Core i7 13650HX is 14 cores and 20 threads (6 performance + 8 efficiency) on Raptor Lake, 2.6GHz base and 4.9GHz max turbo, 24MB L3. It was the mainstream gaming laptop pick of 2023, slotting between the 13500HX and 13700HX with modest real-world gaps; gaming, editing, and compiling are all its comfort zone.

HX performance release is all about the chassis: some machines feed it 100W+ sustained, others only 60W, and the difference is a whole tier. How much of the 13650HX you actually get is decided by the laptop's cooling design and power policy, not the model number.
