Is a laptop with Core Ultra 9 386H good enough for gaming, and does the CPU or GPU matter more?

The Core Ultra 9 386H is a 16-core/16-thread performance flagship with more gaming headroom than needed; the dGPU TGP and machine tuning decide the real experience. High-settings 1440p/4K is basically the GPU's job; 1080p high refresh or esports looks at CPU frame time.

In plugged-in performance mode, log 15 minutes with HWiNFO: GPU ~95% usage with power near TGP means GPU-limited; GPU under ~90% with saturated CPU threads means check CPU power limits and cooling. The gaming value of a flagship CPU is stable high frames (1% lows), not paper FPS.
