How many cores and threads does Core Ultra 7 258V have, and is it suitable for gaming and video editing in a laptop?

The Core Ultra 7 258V is 8 cores and 8 threads (4 performance + 4 efficiency, no Hyper-Threading) on Lunar Lake, 2.2GHz base and 4.8GHz max turbo, 12MB L3, 37W TDP. Single-core is strong and power is very low, so office work, web, coding, and mid-tier editing are all fine; the 47 TOPS NPU makes it a Copilot+ thin-and-light chip.

It's built for thin-and-lights, with battery life and quiet as its strengths. 8 threads means don't expect heavy parallel scaling, but single-core and efficiency make it more useful than many older 6C/12T parts. For gaming, the new-gen Intel iGPU runs mainstream titles at medium-low settings; AAA needs lower expectations.
