Is a laptop with Core Ultra 5 338H good enough for gaming, and does the CPU or GPU matter more?

The Core Ultra 5 338H is a 14-core/14-thread mid-range performance chip; with a mainstream dGPU it handles 1080p high refresh and 1440p fine, and the FPS ceiling belongs to the GPU.

To verify: log 15 minutes in plugged-in performance mode with HWiNFO — GPU usage around 95% with power near TGP means the GPU is the limit; GPU usage low while CPU threads are saturated means check CPU power limits, cooling, and mode. Esports (LoL/CS2) are sensitive to CPU frame time, so high-frequency dual-channel memory helps. Don't translate core count into FPS.
