The Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus ships without an iGPU, so does its AI really need the discrete card a desktop requires anyway?

Answer

The 250KF Plus is refreshingly honest: no iGPU, so light AI work stays on the 22 TOPS NPU while the heavy jobs belong to a discrete card. Eighteen cores at 5.3GHz with VNNI can still push short INT8 quantized inference on the CPU side, but a 22 TOPS rating exists for always-on helpers, not for local large models or image generation.

Buy it when a GPU is already on the list and the money saved on an unused iGPU matters more; buy something else if the NPU is meant to carry a real model load. Before checkout, confirm the build has a display-output path, because the missing iGPU shows up exactly when the machine needs its first boot.
