How many cores and threads does Core Ultra 5 245HX have, and is it suitable for gaming and video editing in a laptop?

The Core Ultra 5 245HX is 14 cores and 14 threads (6 performance + 8 efficiency, no Hyper-Threading) on Arrow Lake, 3.1GHz base and 5.1GHz max turbo, 24MB L3, 160W TDP, 13 TOPS NPU, launched Q1 2025. Office work, gaming, and moderate creation all have headroom.

For heavy edits, builds, or renders, choose an HX laptop that sustains CPU power in plugged-in performance mode, has enough memory, and cools well. The core count isn't a speed promise — the same spec in differently-cooled chassis feels a tier apart; game frames follow the GPU, with the 14 cores as the baseline guarantee.
