How many cores and threads does Core i5 13600HX have, and is it suitable for gaming and video editing in a laptop?

The Core i5 13600HX is 14 cores and 20 threads (6 performance + 8 efficiency) on Raptor Lake, up to 4.8GHz max turbo, 24MB L3, 157W max turbo power. Don't let the i5 badge fool you — HX parts carry desktop-class silicon, and gaming, editing, and compiling are all strengths; the real gap versus that year's i7 HX is clock and cache, barely noticeable in practice.

It powered the best-value gaming laptops of that generation — the i5 HX plus 4060/4070 combo was among the sweetest configs. As with every HX part, the chassis's power and cooling decide the actual performance.
