Is a laptop with Ryzen 9 7845HX good enough for gaming, and does the CPU or GPU matter more?

The Ryzen 9 7845HX is a 12-core, 24-thread chip from the 2023 Dragon Range generation, found mainly in clearance and used stock by 2026. Twelve cores barely show up in games — frames follow the GPU and the chassis's sustained power.

When deal-hunting older stock, judge the whole machine: the GPU model and TGP must not be dated, the panel must be decent, and the price must be low; the CPU is the last spec to check. An old CPU with a new GPU is only a deal at the right price.
