Question 1

How should a GPU be paired with Ryzen 7 8700G for 1080p, 1440p, and 4K gaming?

Accepted Answer

Without a dGPU, the 780M handles 1080p low-medium esports (LoL, CS, Dota) and many 3A titles at medium; with a dGPU it is just a normal 8-core. Great for office PCs, mini PCs, or bridging until you buy a GPU.

Question 2

How many cores and threads does Ryzen 7 8700G have, and is it suitable for gaming and productivity?

Accepted Answer

The 8700G is an 8-core, 16-thread part, but what makes it special is the Radeon 780M iGPU, one of the strongest integrated graphics around. It plays games at 1080p low-medium and handles video decode without a discrete card. Eight cores cover work; gaming rides on the iGPU.

Question 3

What cooler does Ryzen 7 8700G need, and how do gaming and sustained all-core loads differ?

Accepted Answer

65W: a single tower is enough. Even with the iGPU loaded, system power stays modest and quiet. In a mini case, watch cooler clearance.

Question 4

What motherboard suits Ryzen 7 8700G, and how should power delivery, memory, and ports be balanced?

Accepted Answer

AM5: B650 is enough. Since you may skip a dGPU, confirm the board has HDMI/DP video outputs. iGPU performance depends on memory bandwidth, so use fast dual-channel DDR5.
